The mind works on two separate levels: the conscious and the unconscious.
The conscious is the level where you need to think actively, or rationalise.
The unconscious, sometimes called the sub-conscious level. At this level all of your 'unthought known's' the things that that you don't have to think about are stored.
If you had to think about everything you did, breathing, eating, smiling, balancing, walking, etc your brain would be overwhelmed and be unable to function as it does.
The areas where people have problems are hidden at the unconscious level where their actions and feelings are automatic. As the feelings are automatic you are not consciously aware of them. The most efficient way of finding and ultimately resolving them is to access them via the unconscious mind.
Hypnosis is a very effective way of accessing your unconscious mind and therapy under hypnosis ie hypnotherapy is a very effective method of resolving problems.
I simply ask your unconscious mind what has caused your problem, or turmoil and with the information you give me, I will be able to work with you to resolve it.
Everyone is different. Some problems are quickly resolved and take one session to find out what they are and one session to treat them. I usually arrange a follow-up a few weeks later to ensure the problem is resolved. The more complex the problem the more sessions are required to resolve it.

An informal discussion by telephone will take place. If both parties wish to resolve your issue Christine will ask to meet you so that she can take your case history and answer any questions that you may have. After the consultation, Christine will propose a treatment plan and discuss it with you prior to organising treatment.

There's nothing special about the state of hypnosis. You will probably experience a hypnotic trance many times during the course of the day. Have you ever driven to work and not remembered the journey? That is the state of hypnosis you will be aware of everything around you and be totally relaxed.

Hypnosis on TV is purely for entertainment, and quite different to hypnosis as a therapy.
I'm just a facilitator. Hypnotism is not something that is done to you. I can talk you into hypnosis if you choose to accept my suggestions. If you don't, you will not be hypnotised.
You have to want to be treated and to trust your therapist for this reason your plan will be discussed with you and will not be deviated from so there will be no surprises, other than a feeling of complete relaxation when your trance is terminated. Most people are pleasantly surprised the first time at just how relaxed and well they feel when they are counted back from a trance.
If a hypnotist made a suggestion you didn't agree with, your subconscious mind would say 'hang on a minute what's going on here' and you would instantly terminate your trance.

Its the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feelings, language and behaviour in order to feel, think, and learn.
Neuro - from neurological, the way that data is processed through all of their senses.
Linguistic - the meaning we assign to each piece of data received from other people.
Programming - the behavioural response that results from the data received and meanings derived from them.

NLP is used to help the client achieve excellence and promote rapid change in whichever part of their life they wish to change.

No it's a state most people enter many times during the day.
The only time that it could be dangerous is if you self-hypnotise, or, listen to hypnosis tapes/CD's etc whilst driving or operating machinery.

It won't be. If a hypnotist makes a suggestion you don't agree with your brain will resist and the trance will be terminated.

No. Hypnosis is a state of conscious awareness. You will be deeply relaxed and able to use all of your senses ie aware of where you are, who you are with and everything that is, heard, smelled, or felt. You will also be able to interact with the therapist if this is required so if you need to recall your early memories you will be able to talk to the therapist. If you need to write words, or draw symbols you will be able to do that too.

No. Your mind works to protect you and you will be fully in control at the sessions. I will not encourage you to disclose anything that you don't want to. Secondly your therapy is confidential so whatever you choose to disclose will remain with me, your therapist. The only circumstances in which a disclosure may be made is under duty of care; if I consider that there is a serious risk to your, or someone else's life, or welfare.

That simply cannot happen. You remain in full control of your mind. You may, however, become so relaxed that you don't want to terminate the trance.
That depends on the issue, But I will never un-necessarily extend any therapy.
That depends upon the content of a session but typically about an hour and a half. The first session may be slightly longer because I find it helps many clients to chat and relax before the session starts.

What is a phobia?
An extreme reaction to fear. Typical phobias are toward things that can't be controlled such as spiders, mice, flying, or heights. If you have an extreme reaction to a stimuli, feel real irrational panic, have difficulty breathing, or break out in a cold sweat, you are probably suffering from a phobia.
The good news is that phobias can easily and successfully be treated with hypnotherapy and neuro-linguistic programming.

One theory is that of a learned response. If you have a bad experience or trauma in your past, you may have an extreme response, which is repeated in a similar situation: For example as a very small child you may have been stung, by a bee and this has caused you to panic. Sometimes rather than letting you deal with it your parent (or, whoever was with you at the time) may over react and either panic too, or provide too much sympathy, and the next time you see a bee, you both repeat this sequence again. If this continues to happen a pattern is accidentally to protect you.

Yes, uncovering techniques will help you to improve your self-esteem and to understand why you tend to choose partners with similar personality traits; knowledge is power and knowledge will provide you with the information to carefully select future partners and to choose whether to embark on a relationship or not. The choice of whether to act on the information is yours.

Yes of course, hypnotherapy and neurolinguistic programming are great ways to enhance your confidence and self-esteem.

Confidence is a strong belief in yourself and what you can achieve ie what you project to other people; Whereas self-esteem (coming from the Latin to estimate) is how you estimate yourself - your skills and abilities. A defination of the words does not tell you how either manifests itself, or how to develop them.

There are many ways of developing self-confidence and self-esteem. One of the best ways is to join a group, or co-operative of people all working on their self development.
Why not contact me for details of the next group?
